Anthony & Mamie Jackson
Check out their story below:
How did you and your spouse meet?
We started working at the same Alternative School and we became bosom buddies and God took a friendship and turned it into a marriage in which he is the head.
Share a few details about the proposal:
Anthony was very blunt! He said “Baby, I love you and God made you to be my wife”! He got down on his knee and I said yes. We began to talk and share how God had brought us through many trials and tribulations but together we can pray and get through them all.
How long have you been married?
What do you wish you would have known before you got married?
Everything I have learned was for the advancement of the Gospel, so I wouldn’t change anything because I truly believe God gets the Glory! But if I had to say one thing, I would wish I’d met him years ago!
Please share two or three principles that you believe helps your relationship work.
- In all things we have learned to keep God first!
- Also, I have learned to forgive!
- It’s very important to manage these three areas, sex, communication and money ( love covers it all 1 Peter 4:8)
What have you learned about yourself through marriage?
I have learned that I can forgive others and not hold grudges! It helps when I think about all God has forgiven me for.
What do you and your spouse do just for fun?
Eat, eat and eat. We love to go out and try new restaurants
Please provide a scripture, quote or a piece of advice that has helped you in your relationship.
“Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another for love covers a multitude of sins”. 1 Peter 4:8
